Events in June 2022

Our locos and carriages have featured in private and public events in June 2022 as below.

19th June, the first of five Sundays when all our carriages will feature in Vintage Train services on the Worth Valley Railway, this day will be the first ever time that all four of our carriages have been hauled by an L&YR loco, ‘Ironclad’ 957, currently running as British Railways 52044

18th and 19th June, a celebration of the centenary of the merger of the L&Y and L&NW Railways in 1922 was held at the East Lancashire Railway, featuring our operation locos Pug 19 and Saddletank 752, as well as as the L&YR ‘A’ class 1300 and L&NWR ‘Coal Tank’ 1054, all in their 1922 liveries,
The event was the public launch of restored Pug 19 and almost certainly the first time that 19 had ever hauled a passenger train, hauling 2 carriages and a parcels brake, which was a great success.
