AUGUST 2026 – events and use of our stock
During August our stock featured in events at both the Worth Valley and East Lancashire railways.

On Saturday 8th August the East Lancashire Railway used both our locos in a ‘Lancashire & Yorkshire Running Day’.
As in 2025 our Saddletank 752 still running as LMS 11456 either double headed or top and tailed steam services with ‘A’ Class 52322.
Pug 19 running as LMS 11243 was used for ‘driver experiences’ around Bolton Street Staion – these ae pay on the day by cash or card at the Station, they have proved very popular on previous occasions.
Another ‘Running Day’ may be scheduled for 14th November 2026, more details here when known.
Also on 8th August a Members General Meeting of the Trust took place at the Castlecroft Museum, a notice of the meeting was sent to all those entitled to attend.
WORTH VALLEY VINTAGE TRAINS WEEKEND
Our carriages featured in this event from Saturday 29 to Monday 31 August, although there was a substitute for our Bogie Brake 1474 as the current braking system issue could not be resolved in time.
